Description

The Razer Kiyo Pro ditches the built-in ring light built into the baseline Kiyo, because for this higher-end model, the company assumes frequent streamers already have a more robust ring light or light source available. Instead, the Kiyo Pro focuses on the power features, with three preset field-of-view options that provide a choice between a wide, mid and tight view. The webcam also captures compressed or uncompressed video at 1080p, with support for up to 60 fps. This means you can achieve extra-smooth webcam footage, especially when you’re in motion. If you prefer, there are also options for 30 fps and 24 fps (which works well for creating a more cinematic feel). When you engage the high dynamic range (HDR) mode, you get a better-lit video feed, but only at 30 fps. The C270 has limited automatic exposure and color adjustment, plus a fixed-focus and non-adjustable 55-degree field of view. Thus, you don’t want to be moving around at all during video calls. This webcam easily mounts on any laptop or desktop monitor. If you want an affordable and functional webcam, the Logitech C270 can certainly do the job. Resolution: 1080p | Field of view: 80, 90, 103 degrees | Frames per second: 24, 30, 60 | Autofocus: Yes StreamCam has both autofocus and auto-framing to keep you clearly in the center of the 78-degree field of view frame, even when you’re moving around. Also, you can use the webcam in either landscape or portrait mode. In addition, the webcam manually tilts and pans to help you find the perfect angle. The built-in microphone includes a noise reduction filter. The StreamCam mounts easily on a monitor, or you can mount it on a tripod instead.

The product seen from behind. At the bottom there is also a USB-C port and two USB-A ports that can be used to connect a mouse and keyboard. (Photo: Poly) ConclusionThe Poly Studio P15 offers the core functionality needed to look and sound your absolute best when in a video call, virtual meeting, or live streaming. The 4K camera offers crisp images with rich colors. Meanwhile, the integrated 3 microphones with noise cancellation and built-in speaker ensure others can hear you clearly, and you can hear them. To sum it up, Poly Studio P15 probably pretty much keeps what it promises, but the price is shot far above the target. And you really have to have a bad webcam and bad sound built into your computer to experience any significant improvement with this product. The Forbes Vetted tech team is well-versed in all things digital, having written articles and in the category (a couple of staffers, including Dave Johnson, our deputy editor, have even authored books). The tech section is overseen by Consumer Tech & Electronics Editor Rebecca Isaacs, an industry veteran who has been covering consumer technology for over four years. The Razer Kiyo clips onto the top of a monitor or laptop screen, or you can mount it on a tripod. Compact and foldable, it requires no extra gear or space for additional lighting. This makes it an excellent choice if you travel with your laptop computer or use it from a couch or bed—situations which are not conducive for setting up a separate ring light.

Although the product is designed as a kind of soundbar with a webcam in the middle, so you very logically expect to hear stereo sound – or at least sound from both sides of the camera lens. But there are actually only speakers on the left side of the camera. On the right side you find the built-in microphones. This gives a rather awkward user experience when you sit right in front of the camera, and all the sound then comes from the left side. It feels like sitting at the far right at a large meeting table, which is incredibly distracting. The problem is just that when Poly Studio P15 meets up with reality, things look a little different. Resolution: 1080p | Field of view: 82 degrees | Frames per second: 30 (at 1080p), 60 (at 720p) | Autofocus: Yes This story was written by Jason Rich, an accomplished writer, journalist, photographer and experienced product tester. One of the first products from the newly merged company is the Poly Studio P15, which is to be a kind of luxurious webcam for business users and others who sit in meetings a large part of the time. The NexiGo N930AF is a budget-friendly webcam that gets the job done—and it does so without compromising quality. Its 1080p video at 30 fps is comparable to that on more expensive webcams. It can also handle up to 60fps at 720p resolution. The camera’s autofocus design keeps you sharp and in focus as you move around, which is handy if you shift positions while in a meeting. And its automatic light correction boosts image quality in low light areas. You can use the webcam’s included software to adjust picture brightness, sharpness, hue, contrast and saturation manually. But you can’t adjust the field of view; it’s fixed at 78 degrees. Plantronics, an American company with a tradition of producing audio products – i.a. headsets – for business, has now become Poly, after the company in 2019 acquired Polycom, which were experts in products for telephone conferences, video conferencing and the like. The Kiyo Pro features a large lens with a secure mounting mechanism that easily attaches to your desktop computer’s monitor or laptop computer. Razer's Synapse software makes the various options and settings easy to adjust. While its mix of features makes it an excellent webcam overall, it’s a great webcam for live streaming (if you don’t require 4K).
