Description

The “Radler” meaning is actually taken directly from the Bayerish word “Radler” which is actually, literally, a bicylist. The beer has flavors and aromas of grapefruit, oranges, berries, and a caramel base, offering a juicy, sweet, and soda-like beer. It is a solid Radler that offers a light orange and pink appearance with a light body. It is the ideal choice for drinking at a pool party, while watching the game, or on a hot summer afternoon. Most people are happy with bog standard beer. They’re happy drinking Carling or Heineken, and I don’t mind that. Each to their own. However, if you are in the top 1% (and growing) of drinkers who want to discover, understand and appreciate the craft, quality and value that the best independent breweries create then we are here for you. The Paulaner Brewery is the management company of Paulaner Brauerei Gruppe GmbH & Co. KGaA. Seventy percent of the company is owned by the Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe and 30% by the Dutch Heineken International B.V. If you can actually believe it, I wasn’t a beer drinker before moving to Germany. But what is an even odder twist of events is that the beer that I fell for first in Bavaria was a Dunkel (dark) beer….not even some “easier to drink” light beer. Nope, I headed straight for the liquid bread!

In Bavaria, where the Radler Lemon Beer originates from, a classic Radler is going to be made with a Helles beer. So, I am going to argue that if you want an authentic Radler, then a Helles is the way to go. The Radler is made with 50 percent Munchner Lager and 50 percent natural grapefruit, giving you a delicious balance between a fruity Radler and a beer. The Munchner Lager consists of water, malted barley, and hops. The hop used to make it is the Hallertauer Tradition, while the malt varieties are Pilsner malt and Munich malts. One thing to note now before we go further, Oktoberfest isn’t just in October, it starts in September and finishes in October, so no need to wait till then to celebrate!Beer is a cultural heritage representing a fun attitude to life, relaxation, and conviviality. There are many times in our lives that are made even better by a beer fresh from the tap. The problem with this is the in the US, as much as the craft brew scene is taking over, I still found it quite difficult to find a true Helles. Oftentimes, you’ll hear that a German Radler is half beer half lemonade. In fact, even IN Germany, this is how it’s described. But, as I pointed out in my 20 Other Drinks Besides Beer To Try in Germany post, “ Limonade” in Germany is NOT what Americans think of as the sweet, tart, lemony drink we all love in the summertime. So, yup. Basically, a German Radler is just simply Beer and Sprite! Simple enough, right? Well…maybe….. What Beer To Use For a Radler? Nope.“Lemonade” in Germany is actually going to be something like a Sprite or 7-Up. So, if you are looking for a Radler recipe, and it calls for “Lemonade” it’s not going to taste like a fresh, authentic Radler that you would get in Deutschland.

In 1979 the Schörghuber family took over the majority of Paulaner Brewery, and the entrepreneurial family maintains that majority to this day. We are committed to protecting young people. We help our sales partners in retail, catering and hospitality to comply with the applicable provisions for protecting young people, in particular when it comes to implementing the age limit of 16 for serving beer. The beer has 38 calories in every 100 ml, which translates to about 120 calories in every 12 ounces. Other facts include 5.9 grams of carbs and 4.3 grams of sugar in every 100 ml. The beer is not ideal for those on a keto diet because of the high carb content, about 20 grams in every 12 ounces. HistoryOur company is guided by the following principles. We are also committed to ensuring that our partners in the retail, catering and hospitality trades also follow these guidelines. All beers are brewed in accordance with the Bavarian purity law from 1516. [6] Oktoberfest [ edit ] Paulaner serves three big tents at Oktoberfest: Armbrustschützenzelt, Käfer Wiesnschänke and Paulaner Festzelt. The last one is the official Paulaner brewery tent. In 2010, they rebuilt it and added a central beer ring line that is serving all bars in the tent. [8] There are also various smaller tents at the Wiesn which serve Paulaner beer. The first non-alcoholic Weissbier in the world, "Waitzinger Weissbier", began to be produced in 1986 by the Paulaner Brewery. Today it is called "Hefe Weißbier Non-Alcoholic".

of drinkers don’t have the palate to appreciate these beers. You’re here - we know you are more discerning than them. Well done for discovering Wee Beer Shop. Additionally, there are some mixed beer drinks such as Paulaner Natur Radler, Natur Radler Alkoholfrei, Natur Radler Grapefruit, Weissbier Zitrone and Weissbier Zitrone 0,0%.

What Is a German Radler?

Paulaner Bräuhaus Consult GmbH opened the first brewhouse on Kapuzinerplatz in Munich in 1989 as the headquarters of Paulaner taverns with its own in-house brewing operation. The inaugural Oktoberfest emerged in 1810 from the grand celebrations of the marriage of the crown Prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. This vibrant celebration took place on the grounds known as Theresienwiese and was concluded after five days with a horse race on the open grounds.

In World War II, large parts of the brewery were destroyed by bombs. Reconstruction lasted until 1950. In 1994, the merge to Paulaner Brauerei AG followed. Enjoy this beer best when it’s cold, at temperatures from 35 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The natural, fruity flavor is ideal for any glass, whether you have a pint glass, a snifter, or a mug. You can garnish it with a citrus slice. – Appearance The Grapefruit Radler was released in 2020 by Paulaner Brauerei, which is based in Germany. Once it was released, it was made available in the United States and has remained one of the most popular beers, available in 16.9-oz matte-printed cans. Ok, so now that we’ve got that whole lemonade debacle cleared up, what kind of beer should you use?? Well, this depends. In Bavaria The Radler has a fantastic appearance with a hazy pink color and orange tinges that stay at the top. It looks attractive, with a balance of light orange and pink. It also has an opaque appearance with light orange streaks going toward the bottom.Grapefruit: These are not very common, and you definitely won’t find them at restaurants in Germany, but I have seen Grapefruit Radlers at Aldi before. I can’t say I hated it, but again, there is just something so refreshing about the Zitrone Radler that can’t be beaten! What Is the Difference Between a Shandy and a Radler?
