Description

If your baby is sweating or their tummy feels hot to the touch, take off some of their sleeping layers. Don’t worry if their hands or feet feel cool– this is normal. Swaddling younger babies using a purpose-built swaddle wrap or suit can keep them warm and help them sleep. It minimises/minimizes their Moro reflex (when their arms suddenly jerk up while asleep), and gives your baby a cosy, secure feeling that reminds them of being in the womb. Made from soft, fluorescent-free 100% cotton-rich jersey fabric with Aloekind™ breathable mesh panels which are infused with naturally soothing Aloe Vera. Our All-Season sleepbag has been designed for arms out sleeping and should not be used as a swaddle. The poppers on the armholes (0-6m only) allow for fit adjustment for smaller babies to ensure a perfect fit, to keep baby safe and comfortable. Our sleepbags are slim fitting through the chest to enable full freedom of movement without restriction or excess bulk with a roomy, hip-healthy bottom. Come change time, just unzip the Swaddlebag from the bottom for a fuss-free fresh nappy that won’t disturb your baby. Stage 2: Sleepbag

The Tommee Tippee Baby Sleep Bag for Newborns helps young babies to feel cosy and secure. The Original Grobag Swaddle Bag improves the quality of their natural sleep. We all know that safe sleep is very important for babies. But with so many different clothing options available, it can be difficult to know what your baby should wear to bed. Sleep, temperature, and comfort are closely intertwined, and behaviours geared towards creating a comfortable sleep environment are present in all mammals – from the little mouse curling up in its burrow to the person buying bedding for their home. If we can keep baby at a nice and comfy temperature throughout the night, we can avoid any unnecessary wake ups due to them being too hot or too cold. Providing your child with a comfortable sleep environment is one of the best things you can do, to help your baby sleep better and for longer, night after night.

Three-stage baby sleepwear

Our Sleepbag opens flat, so you can just gently pop baby’s arms through the holes so they can stretch out, while a signature Snugfit™ design promotes a ‘frog-legged’ sleeping position that supports healthy hip development as your baby grows. Our Swaddlebags have been designed to be snug up top and wriggly down below - slim fitting through the chest to enable full freedom of movement without restriction or excess bulk with a roomy, hip-healthy bottom to allow your baby to adopt a natural “frog-legged” sleeping position, which is important for correct hip development. Made from soft, 100% cotton-rich, fluorescent-free fabric our sleep bags are snuggly and kind on baby’s skin – perfect for a comfortable night’s sleep. The safest place for your baby to sleep isin the same room with youfor the first six months. This will be especially helpful in judging the temperature they will be sleeping at. In general, it’s good to dress your baby in clothes that you can easily remove with as little disturbance as possible. This will come in handy if they need to be changed during the night! Baby swaddle suits

Sleepsuits also keep your baby cosy and comfortable from six to 36 months but come with built-in legs and foot covers. This makes them perfect for little ones who have found their feet and want to toddle around before bed and when they wake up. What should a baby wear to sleep in each season? At Tommee Tippee, our sleepwear range comes in three parts, and is either made using super soft cotton or a premium mix of bamboo fibres, cotton and ALOEKIND™. Stage 1: Swaddlebag In the winter, you can dress your baby in sleepwear with a higher tog to keep them cosy/cozy. If your baby is too hot, their skin will be hot, slightly clammy or sweaty, and you'll need to remove some layers. If they're wearing a sleepbag in the correct tog, babies don’t need to sleep under a duvet or quilt. Therefore, we teamed up with sleep scientists and a qualified paediatrician at Northumbria University, to develop a dual-tog All-Season Grobag™. Suitable for use in temperatures ranging from 14-27+°C, featuring removable insulation it can be easily adjusted from a 2.5 tog to a 1.0 tog sleep bag. If parents need to adjust baby’s temperature while they are sleeping, they can safely add or remove warmth using the outer zip ‘n’ pop layers with minimal disturbance to baby. With breathable mesh, positioned in high-heat areas, it enhances baby’s ability to efficiently release excess heat, which supports their natural temperature regulation and ultimately helps to keep them comfortable for a good night's sleep. Read on to learn all about baby sleepbags, and which type is right for your baby. What are the benefits of using a baby sleeping bag?

Our sleep bags have been designed to be snug up top and wriggly down below - slim fitting through the chest to enable full freedom of movement without restriction or excess bulk with a roomy, hip-healthy bottom to allow your baby to adopt a natural “frog-legged” sleeping position, which is important for correct hip development. The easy zip opening is also perfect for night-time nappy changes as you can unzip from the bottom, whilst keeping baby cosy and warm at the top.

We take our responsibilities in this area very seriously and from 2022 our Grobags are going global! We’re still using the same premium fabrics but with extra precautions to ensure our Grobags meet all the regional safety regulations. So, we've gathered all you need to know about baby sleepwear (and how to choose the right sleepwear based on the season and temperature) into one handy guide. How to dress your baby for sleep Available in 6-18 and 18-36 months, our Sleepbag makes the transition from swaddle to sleep suit super easy. It’s made using the same premium fabrics that’re kind to your baby’s delicate skin and opens top-to-bottom (starting near their chin and finishing at their toes) to avoid irritation and mid-night escape missions! All our Grobags are shaped for a slimmer profile over the chest and waist, which enables full freedom of movement, without restriction or excess bulk. The bottoms of our Grobags are roomy, to allow your baby to adopt the natural, hip healthy “frog legged” sleeping position.Nurturing your toddler’s independence and encouraging them to jump, explore, and play when they’re not snoozing, it has snug openings for their feet and fold-over foot covers with grippy, no-slip soles that’re perfect for the chillier months of the year. Again, like the Swaddlebag, our Sleepbag unzips from the bottom for a nappy change that your baby will hardly notice! Stage 3: Steppee Just like when they were in mummy’s tummy, our Swaddlebag helps young babies to feel cosy and secure to improve the quality of their natural sleep. Wrapping or swaddling baby with their arms inside soft fabric helps mimic the closeness of the womb and suppresses the startle reflex which can wake babies up. With this easy-to-useSwaddlebag you can use the poppers on the armholes to either swaddle your baby with arms in for total snugness or arms out to allow them to stretch. For super comfortable arms-in swaddlingwithno complicated wrapping or fastenings, simply lay your baby onto the Swaddlebag and zip themin.

Fluctuations in room temperature often require parents to adjust baby’s warmth levels during the night. However, changing baby’s wearing layers whilst they are sleeping can be disruptive and safer sleep guidelines warn against adding loose blankets on top of a baby sleeping bag as it introduces avoidable risks. Even in the colder months of the year, most babies don’t need to wear extra layers, even if they’re unwell, and for safety they shouldn't ever sleep with a hot water bottle, electric blanket, next to a radiator, heater or fire, or in direct sunshine. How can you cool a baby down to a safe temperature in the summer? As your baby grows and develops, their sleepwear needs to evolve too! Keep on reading to learn about the different sleepwear styles available for each stage. Made from soft cotton-rich, fluorescent-free fabric, our Steppee are snuggly and kind on baby’s skin – perfect for a comfortable night’s sleep.Choose from a variety of beautiful designs from our everyday to luxury ranges. Please refer to our ‘What to Wear’ guide to ensure you dress your baby in the correct clothing under our sleep bags. Our Swaddlebags come in two sizes: 0-3 months (7-13lbs 8oz/3.2-6.1kg and up to 62cm in height) and 3-6 months (from 13lbs 8oz – 18lbs/6.1-8.2kg and 62-68cm in height) so you can choose the best fit for your baby. In Australia and New Zealand, all nightwear for children aged 6 months to 14 years must carry a fire warning label. These safety standards are mostly based on the risk of the garment being exposed to an open flame. Any garments which hang loosely and are made from a more flammable natural fabric (e.g., cotton) must carry the high fire danger label.
