I had no problem with the location changing from the traditional cabin in the woods to a run down high rise building, movie franchises need freshening up, but this movie had none of the energy it's predecessors possessed. it feels paced just right for a story that's essentially stripped down to the bare minimum for character development and extraneous details. So a reboot/possible sequel in this franchise is a dangerous proposition… but I’m happy to report that Evil Dead Rise is a good film that does its own thing while being referential enough to please some long-term fans.The only big let down for me is the over use of one liners and pointless swearing by the deadites/demons. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. The film starts with a flash-forward to some Deadite action in a lakeside cabin, but quickly flashes back to an unrelated family living in the complex to tell the audience how we got to the opening action, which is 99% of the film. I love the beginning when the first possessed begins to quote Wuthering Heights and comes out to take over the others' souls.
