It’s worth bearing in mind that you’ll need to set aside some serious assembly time as it arrives flat packed in three boxes.

We like the toddler-friendly handholds at the top, and the wide steps on the ladder but a couple of our child testers' parents felt the top step was maybe a little too close to the top of the slide to make stepping onto the platform as easy as it could be – and one parent with siblings found it felt a little bit "tippy" when 2 excited children were playing on it together (not recommended but it happens). Take your pick from play equipment suitable for children as young as 1 year old, right up to 9 years old.Our testers played on their slide for hours – and we have the distinct feeling their parents may have had the odd watery whoosh, too. Plastic: Plastic slides have the benefit of being able to be placed anywhere and not get too uncomfortably hot for children to use.

With a slide length of just over 80cm, and a height of about 40cm, we’d say it’s more geared towards kids aged 18-months to two-years-old, that’s not to say our three-year-old tester wasn’t rather taken by it. The stairs slide comes in a 4 pack which covers up to 9 stairs, or a 6 pack if you have a lot more than just 9 stairs you'd like to slide down! It's very well designed – our testers found the hand/foot holds nicely spaced apart for preschooler limbs (toddlers may need a helping hand) – and we love the storage space underneath for stowing away other garden toys. We’re also big fans of the neutral colour scheme which is a stylish addition to a bedroom or playroom.

Being multi-use, we were impressed by how ”slideable” this was, as our mini tester whizzed up and down.It’s recommended for ages 18-months to six-years-old, but we’d say around the age of two or three is the optimum use for this slide.

We love how this product allows little ones to be creative with climbing, using the tunnel or navigating the ladder. Never slide down a slide with a child on your lap – it’s been linked to an increased risk of injury. I found this and although I had never heard of little helper but was impressed that material was environmentally friendly.And its impressive solidity means, once you've got it up, you're not going to want to be moving it around.
