In short, I-Type film is a new format made by Polaroid Originals (now simply ‘Polaroid’ after a recent rebranding) that only works with new Polaroid cameras. If you think every single pack of Polaroid film containing its very own disposable battery seems wasteful and expensive… well… you’re right. However, 600 type cameras like the vintage Polaroid Impulse AF, cannot use I-Type because there’s no battery to power the camera.

I'm a fan of Polaroid and used Polaroid iType film many times in recent years but I tried it out recently in my Polaroid Lab. Both of these cameras can use I-Type film, Polaroid Originals 600 film, and vintage Polaroid 600 film.We use Royal Mail for the majority of our consignments aside from large and oversized items which many come via an alternative carrier. If you have a non-BNPL balance, you will still need to make at least your minimum payment as shown on your statement. The original Polaroid format you love minus the battery, so it’s a little friendlier on the bank account too. Depending on whether you go with a Polaroid or Fuji Instax camera, there will be different formats to choose from.

The results were better than expected and looked just as good if not better compared to some iType camera shots. They also don’t work with any peel-apart films from Fuji that are made for very old vintage Polaroid cameras.
