I thought it'd be a bit more spooky, but that's my own fault because I just saw 'bone' and assumed it'd be a bit spooky, but it's mostly about family, love and friendship, which it always lovely to read about in a middle-grade! She also manages to create a wonderful familial dynamic in Ermin, Sofia, Renata and their orphaned pet crow Corvinth.

Plenty of action and peril for impatient readers, and lovely description for those of an imaginative nature.
