Although I agree with the basic premise, and the book does contain some original ideas and perspectives, these are fairly limited and the nature of the book is observational rather than scientific. The publisher of this book, Healing Arts Press, requested my review and I found the title an attraction as it reflected two of my deeper interests: my dealing with ADHD as a psychologist, and my interest in the era of the hunter-gatherer. Good content, but - as every 5th sentence is “quote-unquote” hearing it 100 times within 30 minutes does really become annoying. These populations have learned to believe that their condition is hopeless with the alcoholic and incarcerated giving up on the ability to succeed.
