I think of this watch as a slightly more wearable version of the F-91W, with identical functionality, but with improved looks.It’s nice and small and has more curvature; meaning it looks less blocky compared to its bigger brother; which kind of looks like a Lego brick. One thing to note, is that due to material variance between the bracelet and case, the metallic brushing doesn’t quite match up. Whilst the black version will likely retain the label of ‘dad watch’ for many more years, the metal Casio watch however is just a cool, retro, digital watch; that can certainly add to your style. As with the F-91W, there are plenty of stories of people going as far as diving with their Casio A158W watches, however, as the watch has a stated water resistance of just 30m, it’s not something I’d personally recommend. Shame Casio changed the A159 to a snaplock bracelet, the fold-over seemed to be the biggest differentiator to the A158. Inexpensive watches, yes, but watches that brought me so much joy and still have meaning to me today.I really wanted the newer style Casio A159-WA style bracelet, not the old style “clasp” bracelet version of this watch. My everyday watch is a159wa I like the clasp personally and the bracelet is very comfortable to me, others remark it pulls their hairs out but not on me luckily, btw this watch is so neat even at jewelers the watch guys notice it and remark how neat they are.
