Now, I'm not the crying type, but I was definitely sniffling back a few tears at several points in this book. Drug smuggling and heroin addiction flourished, as did prostitution and pornography, extortion and fear. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle.Keeping track of time and personalities in this book is tricky as the narration cannot by its nature be entirely straightforward but this doesnt detract from a good read. This was the first indication, other than her time with the Willanses, that she had any kind of a life outside of running through the squalid streets rescuing those in the gutter. I first read this book about 30 years ago and purchased it for a Christmas present this year for a friend.

Jackie presents it all in this book, the good and the bad, and at the end all I seem to be able to say is: GOD IS SO GOOD. S. today, if simply for the fact that God could do those miraculous works here if only we'd let Him. Once Ah Kei became a Christian, he began to tell the good news to his family, who one by one accepted it.
