In space, the Rebel and Imperial fleets seek to destroy each other by moving and attacking with Starfighters, including the TIE-spamming Executor Super Star Destroyer (with Empire’s fully armed and operational battle station taking shots as well).

But what you can do is hit it too hard, it goes up in the air spins on the spot and lands directly on your own Stormtroopers! Indeed, while a name like “Risk Star Wars” may lead one to believe that this is Risk with a Star Wars theme, it has pretty much nothing in common with Risk beyond the presence of five six-sided dice (which are not used in the same way as Risk dice). Boardgamegeek had some pretty great mods like this classic eight-player version but at the time I was really into Fantasy Flight Games’ X-wing Miniatures game and started brainstorming ideas with a friend.A purely dexterity game, the main draw of Loopin’ Chewie is that the motor at the center of the game will flies Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon around. My 7 year old quickly figured out that there's an art to flipping up Chewie so that he exactly lands on your opponent's tokens in a way in which cannot be blocked. It’s great fun for adults and children alike, so much that it was one of our games we got out for Christmas Day last year!

My other notes about this game are: 1)You have to play with three players to make the game work well. Tabletop gaming has (thankfully) not been immune to this phenomenon, with a variety of specialty and mass market Star Wars games released in 2015, with more scheduled for 2016.

Loopin' Chewie is out and about and he's going to come after the Stormtroopers with his piloting skills!

Product manager goes to BGG to see what “the kids are doing with Louie these days” and stumbles on my Chewie conversion post, loves it and convinces Hasbro big brass to make the conversion in time for “ Force Friday” in 2015. Players control the levers of their respective barracks, in time to Chewbacca and the Millennium Falcon doing flying loops overhead, trying to stop it from knocking a Stormtrooper token off the barracks and into the channel. It still, however, features actual strategy and tactics, making this a great game either casual gamers or for serious gamers who want some light fun. Miss and he’ll hit a token and you’ll lose it, lose all 3 tokens and you’re out, the last player left in wins.Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item.
