All 52 episodes of the series are included, but only 41 are fully remastered; the other 11 were irreparably damaged in the intervening decades, and had to be “uprezzed” from older files. To boil it down, Batman Beyond hit all the right notes out of the gate, confident and bold, and it was rightfully rewarded. Anticipating Batman’s eventual retirement, or even worse, his death at the hands of a villain, Waller embarked on a daring endeavor. The folks behind Batman Beyond, including producer Bruce Timm, casting director Andrea Romano, and voice actors Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle, were in Hall H to celebrate the animated series’ 20th anniversary, and shared the announcement with excited fans. Diving into the discs, and much like last year's Batman: The Animated Series Blu-ray release, the HD remasters on this set are at times jaw-dropping. The traditionally-colored episodes (the first 26) look crisp and clean for the most part, though there's still dirt and scratches due to the quality of the source material. However, the digitally-colored episodes (the second 26) look crystal clear and beam with color. However, it's worth noting that, due to time-worn irreparable damage, 11 of the 52 episodes had to be "smart rezzed" from standard definition Digibeta video (the list of the up-scaled episodes can be found after the review). For what they had to work with, the episodes still look quite good, though there are unavoidable issues with the upscaling. Edge enhancement is rampant, colors look a little muted and motion and images can be jagged at times. It's apparent but eventually you stop noticing. Don't let that take away from that fact that these episodes have never looked better. They look great - Batman: The Animated Series HD-remaster level great. The level of detail, the sharpness of the image, the colors, it's legitimately stunning. Consequently, when their son Terry McGinnis was born a year later, he was imbued with the genetic prowess of Batman himself.She found her candidates in Warren and Mary McGinnis, who remarkably mirrored the traits of Thomas and Martha Wayne, Bruce’s parents. The Batman Beyond Pops! it’s truly something special. Mirroring Terry McGinnis’s transformation into the Dark Knight, this collectible is a must-have for any Batman enthusiast.

Audio Commentary on episode "Shriek" by producers Bruce Timm, Alan Burnett, Paul Dini & Glen Murakami, director Curt Geda and writer Stan Berkowitz There are a bunch of bonus features peppered throughout the set. The bulk of the archival materials that were available on the original DVD sets is found on each main season disc. The Bonus Features disc is where you'll find the newer produced extras that offer some more insight and interesting nostalgic bits. In total you're looking at several hours of great commentaries and behind-the-scenes material! Sadly no new bonus features were included for Return of the Joker as that disc is identical to the 2011 release. Batman Beyond delivers a thrilling, dark narrative that plunges you into a city teetering on the brink, where each shadow whispers a secret and a new Batman soars above the rooftops.
