About this deal

As an extra defence against mosquitos and other critters, the Jungle Bag features a mosquito net, which can be zipped over your face to provide an excellent barrier against biting insects at night. Versatile Use as a sleeping bag, unzip and use as a blanket, or zip together with another Jungle Bag. Military-grade sleeping bags are the number one choice of military professionals. By design, our military sleeping bags retain the optimum amount of body heat to keep you warm in cold weather. For nights under the stars, our waterproof army surplus sleeping bags ensure you remain cosy and dry. Camouflage Sleeping Bags In addition to personal preferences, note that the “œaverage woman” is generally slightly colder than the “œaverage man” in the same sleeping bag. I highly recommend this Snugpak sleeping bag to anyone looking for a lightweight, ultra-durable bug-out sleeping bag for use in mild to warm weather.

as for the exercise concept - we're looking to challenge them. we've done quite a bit of winter walking, we've done some good AT, and we're just looking to take it a bit further. in the real world -10c isn't a problem, people sleep in that everyday, certainly i did it at 18 with the climbing club, the ATC do it with cadets on the winter course at Grantown-on-spey... i'm not keen on a 'buy it yourself' solution because those who can afford it will get the wrong thing, and those who can't will miss out, and thats not what the cadets, in my view, exists for. i'm not daft, i'm not going to risk the cadets and my own future on a dodgy temp rating, ceeding control to idiotic parents and then being the fall guy when it all goes tits up. A small and lightweight sleeping bag for summer use. The specialty of the Jungle bag is the blanket feature. Also works like the American Woobie! normal bags would suit all year as four season bags but are big and bulky - 3-4 season depending on age. At Outdoor Action, we believe a good night’s sleep is an important part of any camping or travelling experience. We pride ourselves on offering an extensive range of premium Snugpak sleeping bags to make sleeping outdoors more comfortable. Whether you’re heading to a festival or planning a family camping trip, plenty of options are available to suit your needs. OUR RANGE OF SNUGPAK SLEEPING BAGS

Pros and Cons of Snugpak Jungle Bag

Cutting right to the chase, this survival bag is made for tropical conditions (Snugpak`s recommend lowest temperature range is 45°F), so it`s really only ideal in mild to warm locales. We’ve been selling the Snugpak Jungle Bag sleeping bag for a number of years, as this was one of the first ‘anti-mosquito’ bags available. But with so many newer additions to the sleeping bag market, including the Vango Planet & Highlander Voyager ranges, why should you consider the Jungle Bag when choosing your travel sleeping bag? In this post I’ll run through the key features of the Snugpak favourite and highlight the pros and cons of this 1 season travel sleeping bag. Another thing I love about the Snugpak Jungle Bag is that it`s hooded with a built-in bug net to keep bugs away. You can use this bag straight on the ground (aka cowboy camping) without a shelter. As mentioned above, this survival sleeping bag isn`t the warmest since it`s designed for tropical conditions. I also love the versatility of this sleeping bag. You can use it on its own, unzip it into a survival blanket, or zip it together with another Jungle Bag to create one big sleeping bag.

Please note, we cannot guarantee the level of comfort a particular sleeping bag will provide. For instance, a sleeping bag is not designed to be used on its own out on a wild and windy moor. It will have been designed to be used alongside other protective equipment such as a tent or bivouac shelter where common sense deployment is an absolute necessity. Likewise, a 'jungle' sleeping bag, which will be a lighter less-well-insulated item, will suit the climate it was intended for and still be used in a sheltered location. In warmer conditions, the bag can be opened up and used as a quilt and you can even zip together a left and right zip version to create a warm and comfortable double sleeping bag. Not Much Insulation Although it performs relatively well in temperatures down to 45°F, this bag is really best for minimum nighttime temperatures about 15°F warmer than that. It`s certainly not suited for winter wilderness survival. The Jungle Bag does this remarkably well. I wouldn`t want to sleep in it long-term (unless I absolutely had to), but it will keep you alive (and reasonably comfortable) in an emergency. Not Mummy Shaped In my opinion, a mummy-shaped bag is best for survival situations. Not only does this shape help reduce weight even more, but it also provides superior insulations since less heat can escape. Of course, the Jungle Bag was purposely designed for warmer weather, so this isn`t a major issue. A must-have for camping in the wilderness, a camouflage sleeping bag allows you to blend seamlessly into your environment. Our waterproof, breathable camo sleeping bags will give you a warm and comfortable sleep in all temperatures. Sleep soundly on rough and uneven terrain with army surplus sleeping mats and bedrolls. Summer Sleeping Bags Snugpak states that it`s good in temperatures down to 45°F, although I wouldn`t want to take it out in anything less than 55°F. And, honestly, it`s best suited for nighttime temperatures 60°F and above. The bag opens all the way with a sturdy zipper, thus doubling as a blanket. The hood can be drawn tighter with the provided cords.
