Theo criticised The Potato Eaters for its dark palette, which he thought unsuitable for a modern style. [220] During Van Gogh's stay in Paris between 1886 and 1887, he tried to master a new, lighter palette. His Portrait of Père Tanguy (1887) shows his success with the brighter palette and is evidence of an evolving personal style. [221] Charles Blanc's treatise on colour interested him greatly and led him to work with complementary colours. Van Gogh came to believe that the effect of colour went beyond the descriptive; he said that "colour expresses something in itself". [222] [223] According to Hughes, Van Gogh perceived colour as having a "psychological and moral weight", as exemplified in the garish reds and greens of The Night Café, a work he wanted to "express the terrible passions of humanity". [224] Yellow meant the most to him, because it symbolised emotional truth. He used yellow as a symbol for sunlight, life, and God. [225] The state is made up of two halves, in north Goa the golden beaches are brimming with working fishermen, sunshades and vendors. By contrast, south Goa comprises secluded coves and stretches of sugary sand boarded by swinging palm trees. Take a guided tour of Goa with a local resident

Trust me, it’s worth the 5am start. You’ll be surrounded by the city as it rumbles into life and the magic is, the flurry of activity is completely swept away before many have had breakfast. Mukaku was a powerful martial artist who never was defeated in battle, despite battling constantly over thirty years using the Gaoh Style. He later created the Niko Style, showing immense mastery of the style. He also shows proficiency in the Long Clan Style, knowing even a secret technique. Even at a hundred now, he shows no opening in battle, proving to be a deadly force with each strike meant to kill instantly.
