You can buy the T-GT II without the Gran Turismo licensed steering wheel, and instead opt for a different Thrustmaster wheel. There are a range of different steering wheels including a few Ferrari Formula 1 replicas. The wheel design is a combination of plastic and brushed metal. This gives off some mixed messages, as some of the plastic feels a little cheap. However, the leather hand grip makes up for this and feels really premium, even at this price point. The Ferrari SF1000 is one of the coolest formula-style steering wheels on the market and would be my go-to choice for upgrading the steering wheel. The steering wheel is solid and very grippy, but uses a rubber grip rather than a leather one. Many people will be fine with the material, but after using the G29 we did miss the feel a little. There’s a solution, but it’s not cheap. These wheels are actually part of a system – you can get other steering wheels and more advanced pedalboards, the T3PA and the fab T3PA Pro. There’s even a manual gearbox if you want a proper old-school driving feel.
