However, any extra electricity produced over 110W gives you no additional benefit.

Where the standard River 2 is less good is when you want to run higher power appliances for longer periods of time. In those cases, you may choose to look at the higher power variants – the River 2 Max (512Wh / 500W) or the River 2 Pro (768Wh / 800W). If these still don’t have enough power then you will need to switch to the Delta 2 range. We prefer the higher power Delta 2 for our campervan, but it is obviously more expensive. Can you Use the River 2 While it’s charging? What does this mean? If your house or caravan is running on mains electricity, you can use larger EcoFlow devices like the Delta 2 attached to the mains distribution board via a switch – when the mains drops out, the switch will automatically move you onto battery power.
Another factor to consider is how many outlets you need to power all your family’s devices simultaneously. Type of Outlet However, you can use two RIVER 2s simultaneously but separately. For example, use one to power your lighting while the other powers your box fan. However not by much. In contrast, LiFePO4 is safer and can withstand many more charge/discharge cycles. About 6x as many (3000 vs 500) before the storage capacity has dropped to 80% of the starting amount. If you’re fully discharging charging the River 2 every single day for 8 years, it will still have 80% capacity available to you. Pretty reassuring in our opinion. Battery Capacity of the River 2 Additionally, in a real-world scenario involving a MacBook Pro 16-inch M1, the RIVER 2 Pro really showed its mettle. With a combination of the RIVER 2 Pro’s charge and the internal batteries of the MacBook and camera, I could keep all devices running for an entire day on a single charge, which is an enormous benefit for on-location work where electricity is scarce.

The Max is lighter and more compact than its counterpart. The Pro offers more electricity storage and output capacity for those who want to operate larger (or more) devices for longer. OK, we’ve spent alot of time with the River 2 – is it a useful device? The answer is yes, as long as you’re aware of how little power you have on board. However, just because the RIVER 2 is among the most durable portable power stations on the market doesn’t mean you should drop it in the ocean. For one thing, RIVER 2 has multiple AC, DC, USB-A, and USB-C ports so that you can charge all your devices at once. To figure this out, you’ll need to divide the storage capacity of the RIVER 2, which is 256Wh, by the wattage of the appliances you want to charge.
