About this deal

I don't know if I ever owned any of the books as a kid, but I'd see them every year at B&E around Easter and this year, I thought 'I'm gonna freakin do it' and bought the collection.

Tom was very naughty…. And I think that some day I shall have to make another, larger, book, to tell you more about Tom Kitten!” Also available in PDF.fzMr1gSE;#xp))|DRʯFh||/E)jVm uH;pNI"9-OFgMVpUs`c`*>%%-l,>.ElnϳɩҪ

Beatrix Potter’s tales began when Peter Rabbit first made his appearance in The Tale of Peter Rabbit in 1902, followed by 22 other tales that you will find in Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales. Free eBooksA personal favorite. The author was asked by a child who “had told Beatrix that Peter was too good a rabbit, and she wanted a story about a really naughty one!” Well, as the story goes: “This is a man with a gun…. The good Rabbit peeps out of its hole. And it sees the bad Rabbit tearing past — without any tail or whiskers!” Also available in PDF. A lovely book to treasure and read to succeeding generations of children. They will love Potter’s engaging tales as dearly as their grandparents and parents did — and still do! One of the things I liked about this collection of Beatrix Potter stories, rhymes, and paintings is that before each there is text explaining a bit about the story such as when it was written, what was going on in her life at the time it was written, etc. It's also your typical morality tale of the "serves you right because you were naughty" variety. And, if you read the rest of the tales, when Peter Rabbit comes up again, he is much changed from his experience, and is basically a kind, upstanding member of the community, his veggie stealing days behind him. Aw. Nearly every book list geared toward homeschoolers will include Beatrix Potter: The Complete Tales, or at least a story or two from the collection.

I was not too familiar with Beatrix Potter when I started reading this book to my granddaughter Cora. I knew of Peter Rabbit and Jeremy Fisher but that's about it. Through this book I met a score of other delightful animal characters and was re-introduced to a few stories I've known for many years but did not kn0w came from Potter's pen. It always angers me to see Beatrix Potter books without the original illustrations, so I’m very happy to report that these are the original watercolor illustrations and line drawings for Potter’s complete works. What a bargain for 99 cents! Beatrix Potter is a treasure! Revisit the world of Beatrix Potter in this timeless new audiobook edition. Featuring all 23 of the classic tales, this new collection features a range of award-winning and contemporary voices, including Olivia Colman, Tom Hardy, Lily James, James Acaster, David Harewood and Joanna Lumley. Growing up, my grandmother had VHS of some of these stories and I thought they were the only stories she wrote.

I must admit that I absolutely didn't grow up knowing the work of Beatrix Potter. Later, I had heard about it, but still without really caring about it. It wasn't until a few months ago that I started to really take a look at it. And for my birthday I received the complete work (in French). This edition includes a section at the end that contains four additional works by Beatrix Potter that were not published in her lifetime.
