The receiver is a convenient XLRM plug-in type for connection to a microphone input on a mixing console or amplifier. The system will auto-pair when powered up and seek the best carrier to maintain a stable connection. Both transmitter and receiver are rechargeable and are supplied in a power case, which re-charges both when stored and can recharge itself via a standard USB type-C port. That’s actually pretty good. There’s a little bit of key noise in there, but you get that on any wireless microphone and even with my really expensive, fancy microphone, I do get a bit of key noise. The AMT mics are worth the money, though. I still use their old Roam Elite, which is pretty ancient at this point, but the new line is called Quantum, and they're really excellent. Loads of our members in Sax School are using wireless microphones, and I do in fact as well. They’re a great choice for recording at home, but also if you’re out gigging, maybe playing with a local band or playing by yourself as a solo artist, a wireless sax mic is a brilliant choice because it gives you so much more freedom.
