I'm sure it is possible to break the mirror, but I haven't succeeded yet and I've tried pretty hard, going so far as to race an enduro with the mirror in place.

We loved that- nothing could be more rewarding, and that is really the same mission we still have even if the product is totally different. How long did it take from the original idea, to design, to prototype, to the final product on the shelf?This mirror is the product of much frustration- I spent years breaking other designs and wondering what was going on behind me on the road. Eventually, when I dropped my bike and found myself buying two(!) new master cylinders as a result, I decided it was time to make a really good mirror, one that would function well as a mirror, and also protect the bike (and me) from damage." One small annoyance we experienced with the Double Take folding dual sport mirrors was that they sometimes lost their adjustment after riding at higher speeds. The mirrors stayed in place under 80 mph but when traveling any faster, the constant wind pressure would start to push them out of adjustment. Cranking down the twist lever made this occur less frequently. When you buy your brand new adventure bike you probably aren't going to notice the mirrors. Why would you when the rest of it is so shiny and full of adventure potential? Everything you might possibly need to fit the mirrors to you bike or move it to another bike in the future. Not as much as you might think. Of course, we use CAD/CAM to design our parts, and 3D printing to test models, but beyond that, our products are pretty old school.
