About this deal

The kit I received for this came with cleaning oil and lubricating oil separately, along with some cleaning cloths to apply and wipe down the oil. Although gun oil is great for lubricating gun parts, and just about necessary to achieve reliable performance out of some types of firearms, it is also helpful when cleaning firearms after shooting and to protect them from corrosion/rust. Gun oils are an essential part of firearm cleaning and maintenance. These oils are used to lubricate friction surfaces, and protect your firearm from rust and corrosion. In fact, if you’re just starting out, purchasing your gun oil in a travel size may be the best solution here. For example, my favorite gun-specific oilcomes in perfect travel containers (that can be refilled). If you are looking for a slightly more involved solution that may provide a more complete cleaning then going with a dedicated oil and purchasing a separate bore cleaner/ solvent may be the better option.

It doesn’t run or gum up even under extreme temperatures, and was actually originally designed for use with machine guns. The superior compounds in this gun lube withstand harsh conditions to protect your gun against weather elements. Also, it helps to improve the effectiveness of the operating system for long-term use. Pros The moisture barrier formulation prevents the formation of rust and other types of corrosion to protect your gun. With the precision needle tip applicator, you can easily oil any gun. The lubricant performs under extreme pressure and heat to prevent damage. Pros The oil doesn’t break down easily under extreme heat or pressure because it’s made out of high-quality synthetic oils. It excels within an ideal temperature range for shooters, so you can use it on guns that tend to heat up a bit. I also recommend this to anyone who lives in places with cold weather because it doesn’t gum up easily and can prevent any new build-up on your gun for a decent time period. Historically, plant or animal oils and fats like olive oil and whale oil were used to lubricate and preserve firearms. At present, modern gun oils are mostly made from highly refined petroleum or synthetic formulations for advanced performance and protection. These oils are designed to penetrate metal surfaces, forming a protective polymeric film that guards against corrosion and wear. They usually contain ingredients like isopropanol, heptane or petroleum distillates, viscosity modifiers, antioxidants, and reducing agents.Napier Gun Oil embodies the highest standards of UK craftsmanship. Each bottle is manufactured and produced in the UK, using top-tier ingredients to ensure maximum protection for your firearms. With a potent water-resistant rust inhibitor this oil has been specifically developed to protect internal and external metal parts from rust and corrosion. The product will not harden or become rancid giving extra-long service. Witham Gun Oil flows freely, from a fine mist aerosol. If you just need your first bottle of all-around oil, get Break-Free CLP. If you are shooting a lot and need some oil that is a bit better for performance/lubrication, get Mobil 1 or Militec-1. After finding Mil-Comm products, I now use my left over Break Free CLP for automotive and yard tools. PRESERVES: specially formulated synthetic oils won’t lose viscosity, dry out or stiffen in EXTREME heat, cold, dusty, humid, high pressure, and after saltwater immersion. Keeps your equipment in ready condition for months. Performs at -65F to 475F!

WIPE YOUR WOODWORK WHEN WET – Like the external barrel, whenever your air rifle is exposed to water, you want to ensure you are wiping it over to prevent the woodwork from rotting in the long run. SAFE FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES // No harsh smelling chemicals that will not damage the blueing and finish of your well loved firearms. Non-Hazardous, biodegradable and non-toxic, so you can feel good that cleaning your firearms isn’t damaging your loved one’s health or our environment. Find what works best for you . But if you need some guidance, any of the above recommendations should work. When using M-Pro 7, there was a light odor in the air, but not in a bad way; some might say it was nostalgic. The smell reminded me of touring the inside of a battleship. Oil top rear part of the slideFailing to lubricate certain gun parts of your gun can expose them to friction/stress, which may cause them to fail over time. Even if your gun isn't used, moisture from your storage environment can corrode the metal parts and form rust. These issues could impact your gun's reliability, safety, and accuracy. See Napier VP90 Gun grease. This gun lube is designed to clean, lube, and protect your firearms after years of neglect to restore them to their new state. The formula is non-toxic and does not include harsh chemicals that can be damaging to your firearm. Also, this cleaner does not leave an oily coating on your gun which can attract dirt and residue. Although these bottles can be fragile and likely not suitable as travel bottles (above) with rough handling, they are darn near priceless when it comes to maintaining your firearms. Hoppe’s lubricant for guns is one of the best in the market. It has proven to work well in cleaning and oiling gun surfaces to protect against damaging contaminants. It is a high-viscosity oil that stays in place after application for long-lasting protection. Pro Tip: For Hoppe's 9 bore cleaner to be effective, with yoru rifle pointing SLIGHTLY muzzle-down, pour some down the barrel from the breech end when you get home from shooting, preferably while the barrel's still warm. Let it sit 15-20 minutes, then flip the rifle over and do it again to get the other half of the barrel. You should be rewarded with a steady drip of blue-green dissolved copper. Then run your patches through to get rid of it, then couple of oily patches. If you just ram the bore with patches soaked in bore cleaner you won't remove much copper. LET IT SIT!

There are plenty of options when it comes to gun oils. And truthfully, most of them work well enough, especially if you regularly maintain your guns. Still, it’s helpful to consider what you expect from a gun oil before using it to clean and maintain your firearm.

You’ll also want to keep your firearms safe from rust and corrosion. At the end of the day, guns are a significant investment and many of us rely on them to protect hearth and home.
