About this deal

It is exceptional. It oozes beauty, elegance, refinement and class, without even trying, whilst maintaining a presence that is definitive and distinct. Its masculine, but not macho. Its confident but not pushy. Complex without being complicated. Uplifting but not giddy. Its playful but also does not allow to be messed with. Its attractive and appealing, almost verging on seduction, but not quite, which makes it wildly sexy in the most subtle, innocuous way - like the innocent seduction of ones first love. The animal beginning, with a melange of herbs to caraway and juniper, lightly peppery tarragon and the turn to lovage and cheeky sage, combines with the scent of climbing yelp fever and catches the slightly bitter scent of grated vetch and crumbled jasmine. Always worked until the animal aspect of the plants is pressed out of the green stalks.

Boss Bottled Hugo Boss cologne - a fragrance for men 1998 Boss Bottled Hugo Boss cologne - a fragrance for men 1998

So to be honest: If you need a change from time to time besides the modern water, you should test it here. It's definitely worth it. To this day I like this DNA a lot. Not only because I associate it with my brother, but also because I myself owned the EdP Intense from the Bottled for a long time and loved to wear it. Overall, Hugo Boss did an excellent job with this one. It is timeless, since it's been working wonders for the past 25 years, and still smells as modern as it did in 1998. Given that it's a classic, I believe this should be a fixture on the shelf of any serious collector of men's fragrance. I won't equate it to the men's Chanel No. 5 (it's not legendary status yet), but I do believe it holds some prestige due to how well it's held up since the day it was created.

I've always stayed out of this boss's way. True to the prejudice: must the first also be the best?! This used to be such an amazing fragrance. Oh how reformulations have killed it. However, even though it hasn't aged gracefully, I am sure this is a sentimental gem for many of us. This is a gem that comes very close to perfection in what I look for in a fragrance. Its a timeless classic that has been around for many years, and will be around for many to come. The two main ingredients that immediately stand out for me are without doubt the fruity, clean freshness and honey. Yes, it does smell a little like furniture polish, but not necessarily in such a way that you wouldn't like the scent on you. For some people, this note reminds me more of WC stone, as I read - I am rather reminded of the furniture balm from Pronto, which I like to use to care for my wooden furniture. Hence the funny headline. I really like the sweet honey in combination with the freshness, I must say. It rounds off the overall picture perfectly. And even though "Number One" is now 35 years old, I think it has aged very well. He smells pleasantly classic and does not need to hide behind newer fresh scents. You can see the 80s in him - in a positive respect.

As inoffensive as it is, i would still recommend testing it beforehand because some might see it as slightly dated in terms of scent profile. But overall i don't see anyone hating it.as you can see in the comments, this is the safe bet, the first scent they get recommended and the first one they get from the perfume store. Yes, the fragrance is good, but not great and definitely not in the perfection department. Would you buy a scent that literally everyone is wearing wherever you go, or do you want to be original and get one of the other trillion fragrances that are available? I had this one too in the early 2000s and made me realize that life is way too short to spend on the same safe fragrances. It is now twenty years later and I haven't discovered as many unique and or discontinued rarities as I wanted to because I went with the flow. In a particular way I enjoyed Sport Jil Sander for men more than this, and that one seems to be rare now, anyway I've recently bought this fragrance. I'm rather young, and I enjoy sweeter fragrances. So I saw this and blind bought it. Here are my thoughts. Our liability is limited and excluded to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law. We will It is probably the first men's perfume from the house of Hugo Boss. For me personally, it is the best Hugo Boss fragrance I know so far, as it simply smells completely different and mMn stands out from its Boss colleagues. In my eyes he is a charismatic, exotic and ingenious Fougère, with lots of wood and some spices. Its aroma gives the wearer a special aura, even a charming and attractive nonchalance, which makes you feel like the number 1.

It is a citrus scent, however with hints of flowers and cinammon, some easy to wear wood notes. I cannot imagine anyone hating it. Would I buy it? Perhaps not, because it is not something I love. Would I wear it? Yes absolutely. Well I dont know but this is near beastmode on me. I somehow doubt the intense versions are EVEN STRONGER that would just be over the top and choke everyone out. They're most likely weaker than the regular boss bottled I own. I suppose because my bottle is old formulation, its from 2012. The 30 ml is even older, guessing 2008 (batch code has been re-used) The scent is very sweet on me, mostly apple, cinnamon and vanilla. It's a good scent but extremely strong on my skin. Kinda has a woodsy undertone too. I dont really enjoy the cinnamon anymore and because of that rarely reach for this. It is always exciting to see what associations people share with certain scents. But it's understandable, because after all it can bring great joy as part of our common scent hobby. How beautiful is it alone when a scent reminds us of a distant place, a certain time or even a very concrete event? I've experienced this with many perfumes, but "Number One" by Hugo Boss is one of the strongest candidates for such a connection.these terms and conditions in full. If you disagree with any part of these terms and conditions, do Whats interesting to me is that theres complaints about performance on this one. And theres an intense EDT version out.. and even an intense EDP.

BOSS Number One Eau de Toilette 125ml | Fragrance | Superdrug

Oh, yeah, my bottle's from this year. I don't know older versions, but as described above, my batch has a lot of power and endurance. The boss is a distinct scent of the '80s. No "I vote green-esse vegan-and ride my bike to work" smell. He's out of fashion. Not adjusted in 2019. He's not restrained. Doesn't want to hide. He's doing what he was made for. Notice! Maybe that's why I like him so much, because I basically can't do much with trends. And no, I have nothing against the Greens, the Vegans or the cyclists. First of all I would like to make it clear that I don't notice any animalism, no pungent sweat smell and also no resting place toilet with the Number One. What you smell at the beginning is the herb-heavy freshness of aftershave with a lot of honey. In the middle part, very delicate floral unisons can be heard. Just as it was usual with a classic men's fragrance at that time. At the end the Moosig-seifig-Ledrige comes through more and more. And still supported and accompanied by honey. To me personally, this is the type of fragrance that is much better without being a beast mode or projection monster. It's best to be left alone as it is. If you would categorize this fragrance under the male psychosexual hierarchy, this is the "Sigma Male" among the fragrances. The introverted version of the more dominant Alpha Male. Due to its composition the fragrance mMn is definitely not suitable for warm days. So I think it is best to wear it in autumn or winter. Since it is so strong, you should also pay attention to the dosage. Here 3, maximum 4 squirts are really enough. And I have to admit that I find this difficult, because I belong to the notorious frequent sprayers...

Latest Reviews of Boss Number One

While the scent of Hugo Boss is lovely and I can't get enough of it, I do wish that the performance of the fragrance was a little better. The longevity is alright usually lasting for about 6 hours on skin, but the projection could be stronger, especially for those who like their fragrances to make a statement. Despite this minor issue, the scent is still worth wearing, especially for formal occasions and school if you are younger like myself. The whole thing is covered with rose and honey and approaches more and more, with the addition of musk, a bulging meadow with the herbaceous scent of dandelion. (Which in Swabian also has a very fitting name.)
