About this deal

I isolate myself a lot with the extreme challenges that I do, so I spend a lot of time thinking about Azaylia and connecting with her.

I like to do a challenge that's going to be really tough round her anniversary, not only to commemorate her life, but to help me release some of the pain from my head and my heart. Ashley Cain was, as he puts it, a Billy Big Bananas enjoying the playboy lifestyle – until the loss of his daughter changed everything. Going into the intricacies of the journey, of her illness, of the highs followed by quick, punchy and traumatic lows, was hard. Ashley Cain, endurance athlete, campaigner, reality star and ex-footballer, is holding back the tears as he relays the grief he carries every day, little more than two years after the death of his daughter, Azaylia, aged eight months, from acute myeloid leukaemia.

During another emotional moment on the video, which is on Instagram, the former Coventry City FC player said: "I personally don't fear death any more, because I feel like I have been through something worse than death every single day: that is the fear of losing my child. Her parents, ex-Coventry City football player Ashley Cain and Safiyya Vorajee were told that she would need stem cell treatment. I promised that even now I will always be the best daddy I can be, I will honour her incredible time here and I will fight till the day I die for other children and their families who face the monster that is cancer.

You have an hour to pitch your tent and eat your food because you are in wolf or grizzly bear territory. We didn't just want to put out our hands and ask for money - we wanted to show a fraction of the strength they have. Ashley Cain put an emotional post on Instagram in which he said that specialist nurses told the family to 'make the most of the weekend' with little Azaylia. He is the father of Azaylia Cain, the baby girl who captured hearts not only across the nation after she passed away following a brave battle against Acute Myeloid Leukaemia.
