About this deal

Friends' isn't a masterpiece, but it managed to provide years of consistently excellent laughs, supplied by characters that were both distinctly unique but also highly relatable. I am disappointed by how little effort went into bringing the audio quotient up to date for this show.

All 236 episodes from all ten seasons of the US sitcom which centres around the lives and loves of six friends living in New York: Ross (David Schwimmer), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Chandler (Matthew Perry), Monica (Courteney Cox), Joey (Matt LeBlanc) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow). There are few sound effects and mostly it's a surround field used for the laugh-track and music only. The DVD editions of Friends never looked that great to begin with and the Blu-ray presentation is unquestionably superior. Worse perhaps is the fact that there are several notable absences, chief among them Season Two's commentary tracks and, more notably, the bulk of the series' extended episodes. Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane, "The One with the Football" with Bright, Kauffman, Crane and art director John Shaffner, and "The One the Morning After" with Bright, Kauffman and Crane.

Noise is reduced significantly, there are far less softer shots, and the amount of texture in clothing increases exponentially.Another example (one of my favorite scenes that was cut) is the ping pong scene between Mike and monica, you can compare the one on netflix vs the uncut version here https://youtu. As mentioned I have only watched the show on TV, so it's a must for me to watch the series in the extended form.

For more about Friends: The Complete Series and the Friends: The Complete Series Blu-ray release, see Friends: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review published by Kenneth Brown on November 14, 2012 where this Blu-ray release scored 3. Removing it completely would have been detrimental, so kudos to Warner for sticking with their commitment to the 35mm remaster. Friends had already been collected on DVD, and a ton of bonus features from the DVDs have been ported over, including 31 commentaries, several featurettes, a Discovery Channel documentary and much more. These commentaries set up the template for the commentaries throughout the rest of the set, with each participant recorded separately. While matters indeed improve over the course of Friends' ten seasons, everything from air hiss to distortion, errant noise and other flare-ups interfere with dialogue, effects and live studio audience outbursts; things that could have been eliminated or at least minimized had the audio been given more attention. This release contains the broadcast versions of the show, rather than the extended editions found on DVD, though some episodes are longer than others.

Ross and Rachel of course have their famous on-again, off-again relationship (that's really more off than on), but both also develop as individuals. Friends: The Complete Series carries over the extras from the previously released DVD season sets, except that it doesn't include the extended episodes from the previous DVD releases (see detailed information in the main body of this review). Easily the best feature that isn't on the bonus disc, and possibly the best feature in the set, period.Audio Commentary: While most of the seasons have three or more commentaries, the first season only offers one: "Pilot" with executive producers Kevin S.
